Celebrate the 4th in Lihue at the 26th Annual Concert in the Sky
Held at Vidinha Stadium, this is the biggest and most popular Independence Day event on the island. It begins at 4 o’clock in the afternoon with live music featuring Hawaii’s mega-popular group the Rough Riders. There will also be traditional Hawaiian games for the kids, a waterslide, bouncy houses, a silent auction, and craft booths. Fireworks began at sundown and are accompanied by a specially selected soundtrack of popular and patriotic music. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6 to 12. Younger children get in for free. All proceeds go to benefit the Kauai Hospice.
Enjoy Independence Day on Kauai’s Sun-Drenched West Side
This Kekaha event will be loads of fun for kids and adults alike. It will kick off in mid-afternoon with craft shows, rides, kid’s games, live music, a talent show, and tours of local museums. Then, when the sun goes down, you and your loved ones will enjoy a spectacular fireworks display that pays tribute to Hawaiian members of the US military. Parking is available at nearby Faye Park.
Celebrate Independence Day Early with the Hanalei Canoe Club
If you don’t mind starting your celebration a couple of days early, then the 30th annual Tahiti Fete scheduled for July 2nd might be right up your alley. Held on the spectacular shores of Hanalei Bay, this fun-filled festival offers canoe races and rides, Hawaiian music, Tahitian dancing, and special events for the kids.
