Where To Try Ziplining on Kauai

Action and adventure are calling. Suppose you’ve ever seen Indiana Jones or Pirates of the Caribbean and would like to experience even a fraction of the protagonists’ exciting lives. In that case, there is no better place to get started than on Kauai! Many portions of the movie were shot here amidst the pristine mountains and jungles. While it may not be possible to tread through the jungles on foot, you can experience them from the skies!

When staying in a Kauai Calls rental, you’ll never be far from local attractions or amenities and can easily rent a bike to get around quickly; however, when you’re ready to step out of your spacious Kauai Calls rental and explore, consider something extremely adventurous… zip lining!

Here, we’ve compiled a list of the best Kauai zipline tours available. Though just a few hours in length, one of these tours will be an unforgettable experience for all!

Outfitters Kauai

For some of Kauai’s most experienced, longest, and unique zip lines, book an excursion with Outfitters Kauai. They manage ten lines, four tours in tandem, single, superman, seated, and even water zips that traverse lush valleys, tumbling waterfalls, and forest canopies. Whatever your budget, skillset, or schedule, Outfitters Kauai has a tour for you!

The PowerLine Zipline tour is 2.5 hours of fun that will last a lifetime in memories. This two-mile zip line races over Kipu Ranch on three zip lines that get progressively longer. You’ll soar over lush green scenery and stunning views on the 3000-acre private working cattle ranch. Then, you switch to a Superman-style harness for a fourth zipline, which entails climbing a 5-story tower and flying headfirst into the 4000′ Flyline Zipline. It is the longest in Hawaii and reaches speeds of up to 50 mph! The cost is $149 per person.

Another unforgettable excursion is the AdrenaLine Kauai Zipline tour. The course lasts for 2.5 hours and has no beginner lines. The first line takes you flying 150 feet above the valley floor for 800 feet. The following line is 1800 feet and allows you to race alongside a buddy. It has the longest airtime of any zip line on Kauai and is excellent for hanging upside down!

Then, you will soar above the Kipu Ranch and cool off in the Bamboo Pool, a natural lava rock swimming hole lined with fragrant white ginger. Finally, you will get to experience the Kauai FlyLine, the biggest zipline in Hawaii! Prices for this experience are $149 for adults and $139 for children.

In addition to these intense multi-part adventures, you can opt for a ride on the Kauai FlyLine for $50. It is an incredible experience as you soar above the natural beauty that was featured in such blockbusters as Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Descendants.

If an adrenaline rush is not your thing, you can also go on the Kauai Zipline Safari, which takes you on a leisurely two-mile paddle on the Hule’ia River. A short hike takes you to small waterfalls where you can swing Tarzan-style into a fresh-water pool. Then, you will take a wagon ride to Kipu Ranche, where you get some time on the zip lines (though not the longest ones). Finally, you’ll enjoy a delicious picnic and cruise back on a motorized canoe! The safari costs $249 for adults and $179 for children.

Skyline Hawaii

There’s no better option than Skyline Hawaii’s award-winning zipline eco-adventures to see Kauai’s rich foliage from the skies. They offer both 8-line and 5-line tours, which glide over three unique valleys with mountains and ocean scenery. Rest assured, these tours are some of the best ziplining in Kauai and worth every penny! Skyline Kauai has recently been voted Kauai Best Extreme Tour, Best Kauai Guided Tour Company, and Best Kauai Land Adventure Tour Company.

Ninety-seven percent of Kauai’s land remains undeveloped mountain ranges and rainforests. The 8-line Poipu zipline eco-adventure allows you to soak this untouched beauty in from the sky. You’ll get incredible views of valleys, mountains, and Kauai’s south shore. This 2.5-hour tour costs $149.95 per person.

The 5-line Poipu zipline eco-adventure is perfect for “family fun” and includes Kauai’s rich cultural history. A slightly less intense version of the 8-line tour, you still get all the incredible mountain and ocean scenery benefits. This 1.5-hour tour costs $119.95 per person.

As an added benefit, you contribute to their conservation efforts by purchasing a tour with Skyline Kauai! Book your tour online or call them at 808-878-8400.

Koloa Zipline

Koloa offers Kauai’s longest zipline course, including a half-mile Waita line. There are eight lines in total, and the course lasts approximately 3.5 hours. Before getting started, the Ground School teaches you the basics of ziplining. There is light hiking between zip lines, and snacks and water are provided to nourish you during the excursion.

Among all the ziplining adventures on Kauai, what sets Koloa apart? They are the only zip tour on the island to provide a fly’in Kaua’ian harness, which allows you to zip upside down, backward, headfirst, traditional, or any other position imaginable! You can also opt to take a sunset or night zip lining tour, which will give you an entirely different vantage point to view Kauai’s breathtaking scenery!

Tours are $156.45 per person for a 3.5-hour tour. Book your tour online or contact Koloa Zipline at 808-742-2734.
