5 Beaches You’ve Never Heard of on Kauai

In the midst of your Kauai getaway, you’d probably rather not be fighting for a spot on the shoreline. Luckily, Kauai is full of beaches that are still well-kept secrets, giving you a perfect place to relax and unwind in the beauty of the island. Our Kauai beachfront rentals are conveniently located to let you wander into the sand on a moment’s notice, giving you nearly immediate access to these incredible stretches of land.

Pu’u Poa Beach in Princeville

The northeast portion of Hanalei Bay is home to Pu’u Poa Beach, which will take your breath away with its stunning golden sand and blue waters. The view of Bali Hai is stunning, and you can enjoy your afternoon in the shade of the huge trees. The reefs on this beach are ideal for snorkeling, but be aware that there is no lifeguard on duty here. This area is popular for destination weddings, but you can often enjoy a bit of solitude while strolling down the shoreline.

Fuji Beach in Kapaa

Fuji Beach is located on the eastern side of Kapaa and is a great spot to bring the family. There is a walking path that makes the beach easy to get to, and amenities like picnic tables and drinking fountains make this spot perfect to spend the afternoon. Children can enjoy the shallow wading area, where they can dive and kite surf.

Baby Beach in Poipu

Another fantastic spot for families with young children is Baby Beach on Poipu Beach’s east side. You won’t find as many crowds here, and the shallower waters are ideal for kids. The gorgeous fringing reef is the longest in Hawaii and makes for a beautiful photo op! Take the opportunity to snorkel and try to spot a monk seal or sea turtle! To reach this beach, come to Lawai Road and turn left on Ho’ona Road, then a yellow pipe will indicate the beach access point.

Kiahuna Beach in Poipu

Poipu’s southern side is where you will find Kiahuna Beach, a popular destination for surfers of all skill levels. The waters are typically calm, allowing families with children to enjoy the waves. Boogie boarding and snorkeling are some favorite activities here. Beginner surfers will be comfortable close to shore, while those with more experience will find a fun challenge outside of the reef. Be sure you arrive early to grab a parking spot!

Kekaha Beach on the West Side

Visit the west side of Kauai to find Kekaha Beach, the ideal destination for a relaxing stroll in the evening. Kekaha Beach Park is popular among fishermen and surfers and boasts a breathtaking view of the island of Niihau. Waves tend to be stronger here, but there is a lifeguard that monitors the beach. If you’d rather not tough out the water, you can walk along the white sand shore to find a unique shell to bring home with you.

These are just a handful of the almost 30 stunning beaches on Kauai. You can spend the day lying on the sand and soaking up the sun or taking an evening walk with your loved one and being in awe of the sunset. Our beachfront vacation rentals in Kauai make it easy to enjoy the view every minute of your stay, so you can truly make the most of your getaway experience.
