Update from Kauai!

Aloha from beautiful Kauai! We wanted to take some time to give visitors an update on Kauai since the storm in April. Much of the island has recovered and the Kauai community pulled together to support those most impacted. Kauai is best known for it’s Aloha Spirit! As of now (July 2018), the road past Hanalei to the end of the road at Ke’e is closed to visitors for road repairs. The roadwork repairs are scheduled to be ongoing through October 2018. As of now (July 2018,) the Kalalau Trail is still closed for repairs., visitors can keep checking the Hawaii DLNR website for updates. All of Kauai appreciates the support that many have provided to assist in the ongoing recovery efforts.

Kauai Has a Different Kilauea!

Many guests wonder about Kauai being impacted by the Kilauea Volcano activity on the Big Island. Kauai is located about 300 miles from the Big Island and has not experienced any of the earthquakes or ashy skies since the activity started in May 2018. Kauai does not have an active volcano as it is one of the oldest of the Hawaiian islands. Kauai is called the Garden Isle for it’s lush greenery! Visitors can learn more about the volcano activity on the Big Island HERE. Kauai does have a Kilauea, but it looks a bit different than the one on the Big Island, see the picture below of Kauai’s famous Kilauea Lighthouse:
